About TxRxSystems & OpenLogic
Hi, I’m David — a control system architect and integrator with over 20 years of experience delivering luxury smart home solutions across the globe. I’ve spent my career working with platforms like Crestron, mastering their toolsets, and developing bespoke logic for discerning clients with exacting expectations.
But over time, something changed. Platforms that once empowered deep customization began to restrict it. Closed ecosystems took priority over flexibility. Visual programming was replaced by rigid templates. Creativity was being commoditized.
The Birth of OpenLogic
OpenLogic is my answer to that shift — an open, professional-grade smart home operating system built for integrators, not around them.
It’s designed to provide everything that makes systems like Crestron powerful — modular logic, robust signal handling, custom user interfaces — but with modern tooling, open APIs, and complete transparency. No more black boxes. No more compromises.
This isn’t just a project. It’s a mission to reclaim the professional craft of smart home programming and empower the next generation of integrators to build without limits.
TxRxSystems: Supporting the OpenLogic Ecosystem
TxRxSystems is the professional services arm behind OpenLogic. Through TxRxSystems, I offer:
- Professional Support — For integrators who want a safety net while deploying OpenLogic in real-world projects
- Consulting — Guidance on migrating from proprietary systems, architecture design, and advanced customizations
- Turn-key Projects — Full design and implementation for clients and integrators who want OpenLogic handled end-to-end
Whether you’re exploring OpenLogic for the first time, or ready to deliver a system with it, TxRxSystems is here to support you at every step.
Looking Ahead: Hardware Built for OpenLogic
The vision doesn’t stop at software.
In the near future, I plan to introduce a range of OpenLogic-ready hardware — including control processors, touchscreens, and remote controls — purpose-built for integrators who want the performance of high-end systems without the licensing costs or ecosystem lock-in.
These devices will embrace open standards, offer deep integration with the OpenLogic runtime, and give professionals the power to build modern, robust systems on their terms.
Thanks for being here. Whether you’re an integrator, developer, or just curious about the future of open smart home technology, I invite you to follow along — or join the project on GitHub and Mastodon.
